Keepsakes: Preserving Westfield NJ History – The Cat’s Meow Village

Congratulations to the Westfield Fire Department as Westfield celebrateed its 150th.

The Mr. Local History Project (MLH) has been preserving and promoting local history since our non-profit organization was established in 2019. The all-volunteer group started a wooden miniature keepsake program to share history and artwork in partnership with the world-famous Cat’s Meow Village Company of Ohio to support New Jersey’s local history and grow the New Jersey Historic Village Collection.

You may not know this but two of our trustees grew up and lived in Westfield. Supporting Westfield’s history via our MLH keepsake project is in its early stages. We hope the community will strongly support interest in Westfield’s history. The group is a non-profit 501c that relies on fundraisers like this to expand our history programs, so every time you grow your collection, you are supporting our non-profit efforts.

Here’s your chance, Westfield, to support local history.

Three Westfield icons have been selected to offer: Mindowaskin, the Rialto Theater, and the Westfield Presbyterian Church. If interest is strong, we hope to do additional research and work with the community to grow the New Jersey collection with more Westfield historic collectibles.
