As Americans experience our 250th anniversary, historians are asking how this moment should be understood and remembered. The Mr. Local History Project is preparing an in-depth story that brings together perspectives from respected voices across our region. This collection will be shared publicly as part of the historical record, capturing how our community reflects on this milestone in real time.
We are inviting those of you with a deep connection to local history to contribute a brief reflection. In a few sentences or a short paragraph, we would value your thoughts on this question: What does America’s 250th anniversary mean when viewed through the lens of our local history? There is no expected viewpoint, only thoughtful and honest perspectives that connect the national story to the people and places that define our area.
Thank you for helping preserve how this moment is understood for future generations. We’ll also note trends that emerge from your observations and thoughts.
Will share the story with everyone who participates, in case you’d like to share with your history friends.
