We’re going to try to do our best to get out there and experience America’s 250th across New Jersey by attending what we can. The most fun has to be not only learning more about the history but also meeting the people behind the events and understanding why they’re participating in the semiquincentennial celebration.
Don’t Miss a Single Event Honoring America 250 Across New Jersey
Spring Encampment at Jockey Hollow, Morristown – April 18-19, 2026
For two days on April 18-19, 2026, the weather cooperated for half the weekend as over 100 reenactors, including the Commander in Chief General Washington (Glen Siner, Gloucester, RI) and his wife Martha, attended the Spring Encampment at America’s first historical park at Jockey Hollow in Morristown, New Jersey. Saturday was a beautiful, very well-attended day. Sunday was a bit of a washout, no cannons, no gunfire, and it was a cool and bitter rainy Sunday.
Battle of Bound Brook – South Bound Brook – April 12-13, 2026
Legos Celebrate Westfield and America’s 250 – Westfield, New Jersey January 24, 2026
What better way to celebrate local history and honor America 250 than by gathering families to build things with LEGOs. This won’t be the last LEGO story we do, but it was a great event, and we wrote an entire story about it.
Battle of Princeton – Princeton Battlefield – January 4, 2026
People said this is actually the 249th anniversary and that the 250th is later, but we loved it anyway. Thanks to all the reenactors who attended the morning Battle of Princeton on January 4, 2026, exactly 250 years after the Continental Army pushed back the British Army to New Brunswick with a decisive victory in the 10-day campaign.
