Mr. Local History Registers as a 501(c)(3) Non-Profit

With great fanfare, the Mr. Local History announces that the Mr. Local History Project registered as a formal organization with 501(c)(3) non-profit status. While our mission hasn’t changed, the founding organizers have a few specific goals to share as we grow and increase our community involvement.

First and foremost, the Mr. Local History (MLH) project will continue to preserve and promote local history. That goes without say. But now with non-profit status, we can venture into new frontiers including a new social society, a high school historian program, and partnerships with local businesses in the area all geared around promoting local history.

Everything we do will lead to one simple goal – to fund an annual scholarship for a high school senior student. Our initial goal is a $500 scholarship that will hopefully grow based on our fundraising efforts.

The founding members of Mr Local History (MLH) are a veritable Who’s Who of history organizers. I introduce Ms. Paula Axt, Ms. Jill Betz, and Ms. Meg Wastie who have joined efforts organizing our non-profit formation and dedicating their efforts to preserve and promote local history in new ways. I welcome their passion, their ideas, and their desire to make a difference in our community.

Look here for announcements on new ideas and programs. Don’t forget the site has many great articles on interesting topics we’ve researched about our local history.

We hope you’ll join us in our efforts and look forward to seeing you all soon.

All the best.
