The Mr. Local History Project is sponsoring the first ever event that brings history and appetite together alongside some of New Jersey’s most iconic burgers that you’d ever eat. Hit four of Jersey’s most iconic burger joints in one day and win iconic J burger prizes and get your name and photo on the Jersey Crawl Burger Wall of Fame.
Why do they climb Mt. Everest? Because they can.
Why do you take the Jersey Burger Challenge? Because you want to!
MLH has been writing about burger history in the Garden State for years. Each one of our visits has been iconic to our Jersey being, but has grown to be known as one of the best burger states in America. Well folks, are you man enough for the challenge? Sorry, we’d love it for women to participate but we really doubt they’re into this type of stuff (but feel free to prove us wrong.)
The four pillars of the challenge: Clark’s White Diamond, Jersey City’s White Manna, Hackensack’s White Mana, and Newark’s Krug’s Tavern are the four iconic destinations chosen for this monumental mouthwatering meat fest. While we suggest you start at White Diamond in Clark and end at Krug’s Tavern in Newark, we’ve laid out the route because after we performed the route a few times, we’ve learned if you don’t end at Krug’s, it might likely be your only destination cause it’s really hard to get out of Krug’s once you settle in for their giant 1/2 pound beauty.
Random Giveways for those who participate and complete the crawl. Earn your “badge of honor” first by seeing just how hungry you are at each of the four stops. White Diamond, four smalls is the typical plate. Same for White Mana and White Manna. The big challenge is at Krug’s Tavern where we differentiate between the men and the boys. You throw down a single and that’s pretty impressive. But you throw down a double and you’re still hungry. You throw down a triple and you’re a legend. Right now, we’re just trying to see how many can complete the crawl in under 5 hours.
Winners who complete all four stops in one day will win the distinction of making it to our Wall of Fame and be entered for a chance to win a beautiful limited edition t-shirt or one of other burger related prizes.
If you want to be part of Jersey burger royalty, we DARE YOU to take the challenge. Here’s what it looked like to one of the members of our posse…….
