Most fortunate towns have a guy just like Bill Hine. These people "make" a town if you took a moment to understand the person. We call Bill Hines "The Pope of Basking Ridge, NJ" who touched so many hearts with his song, poetry, and inspirational praise.

But who remembers having mosquito fog trucks? This photo at the Newark Drive In brought up all kinds of memories.

Stories always bring more stories and memories. Since we were thinking Pepper Mill Deli - now we revisit Bill Hine. Anyone remember a fun story? We take you back to the 1980s, the Pepper Mill and Brush's Deli in the Village of Basking Ridge.

Mr. Local History’s New Jersey Cat’s Meow Keepsake collection keeps growing due to public demand to preserve and promote Jersey history. Each collectible is a special piece of art on the front with the history on the back. Once they’re gone, they’re gone! It makes a great annual gift to a collector as well. Always look for the “black cat” to make sure you have an official Cat’s Meow village piece—a true original.

Our MLH researchers have searched near and far from old newspapers, ads, and business journals to build this extraordinary collection that you can wear (clothing) or swag like stickers and bedspreads!
Check out the entire collection (over 260 designs) to customize your color and size. See the ENTIRE JERSEY RETO COLLECTION- Over 260 designs and growing.

Mr Local History loves history with a social twist. It’s our motto! So we thought how fun it would be to share some of the most loved New Jersey businesses that have disappeared. We started researching and putting our artists to work to recreate an offering of vintage retro clothing and accessories that honor the history of these great businesses we all remember.

“Wear Local History Collections”

Individual collections include Great Jersey History, Jersey Retro History, Jersey Foodie History, Basking Ridge/Bernardsville, Westfield, Westfield/Cranford, Jersey Motorsports History, Jersey Irish, and our goofy Mr. Local History Fun Collection. Just click on the image below to go to each collection.
